The Village at Mammoth is an upscale pedestrian village in the heart of the township of Mammoth Lakes. There are shops, restaurants, and lodging, and the Mammoth Mountain Village Gondola takes skiers and snowboarders from the plaza in the village to Canyon Lodge.

The Village Gondola uses 15 seater Doppelmayr cabins. (There are signs in the cabins that say that they hold a maximum of 12 people.) Mammoth Mountain Ski Area has plans to extend the gondola past Canyon lodge to the top of chair 15. For technical information, visit skilifts.org
The Village Gondola typically runs from 8 am to 5 pm during the winter.
The Village at Mammoth has a variety of options for rental condos. It is possible to book via the Mammoth Mountain lodging website and web travel sites, but these have the downside of not being able to select the specific unit that you want. Instead, you select a type of unit and the actual unit is assigned at check-in. This is a problem when you have a group that requires multiple units and the main lodging website cannot guarantee that your reservations will be in the same building. Another option is to book individual units in the Village condo complexes (Fireside at the Village, Lincoln House, Grand Sierra Lodge, White Mountain Lodge) through the individual agencies listed on the village rental directory.
